# New music bot for the dev streams

So apparently Soul Music can no longer play Youtube music, so it is no longer usable by us. Someone said that some self hosted bot could be used as an alternative.

Yeah, by self-hosting we won’t have to worry about bots dropping the functions we need, and also not worry about features that lead to us rickrolling the livestream viewers on accident to boot.

This is one such option; I’ve used it before and can confirm it works just fine.

I went ahead and installed that as no one else suggested anything and it seems to work pretty nicely:

I created the `thrive` playlist from the approved submissions playlist on Youtube so it’ll be easy to just start playing some music.
