Cell flattening

Many organisms need to be flat in order to have a higher surface area to volume ratio (think of plant leafs) this is specially important for cells which use their membranes to produce energy, like bacteria, absorb nutrients and get rid of waste. Since the cell editor is completely 2d i’ve thought of a way of implementing a 3d view of the cell to make possible editing its thickness, allowing the creation of flat organisms.

I think the concept is pretty self-explanatory but in short, this would consist on making a side view of the cell that can be rotated and of course, flattened or widened. This might also allow placing organelles on the bottom of the cell, like walking cilia. What do you think?
