Improving security on Github by requiring 2FA

In order to prevent issues from some developer’s account being compromised, I’m going to turn on requiring two factor authentication for our Github organization.

This requires everyone to turn on 2FA on their own account before that. Otherwise they will automatically get kicked. I’ll give everyone around 48 hours to turn the option on.

Here’s when I’ll do it:

If you don’t turn on 2FA before then you’ll be automatically kicked. If you turn 2FA on within 3 months after that, then you might get automatically added back in. If not please let me know once you’ve enabled 2FA so I can send a new invite.

It is done. 13 people were automatically removed from the organization, but Github should automatically add them back in if they enable 2FA.
