The camera could be made to feel more fluid by not making it instantly snap to the player position. Instead it could trail a bit behind the camera to give more sense of movement.
This is done in many games like platformers.
(I didn’t open a github issue for this yet as some might have opinions about this)
I saw a cool talk from GDC once about this idea, it was pretty nice. I can imagine it being a nice feature. Is it a good one for a new programmer to cut their teeth on?
