Alright here’s some upgrade prosposals that shouldn’t require any features we don’t have yet
Flagella:
The basic flagellum could feature a new mechanic where the speed boost it provides takes time to reach max speed. Roughly 2-3 seconds could be a good start.
Motorized:
Provides full speed boost at all times, no wind-up.
-2 ATP movement cost
-100 torque
Tinsellated:
+2 ATP movement cost
+0.004 rotation factor
-25 torque
(Having other parts alter rotation factor will probably require a refactor due to how it’s currently handled)
extended:
+1 ATP movement cost
-0.08 rotation factor (effectively nullifies the speed of one cilium)
+50 torque
Mitochondria:
Hydrogenesis:
The mitochondrion can now utilize the ionization of hydrogen to produce ATP, and no longer needs O2 input to function. Would probably significantly boost water intake need in later stages Note that this may be better off implemented as a true part later on…
-1 oxygen requirement
-79 ATP production (Without oxygen impact, this would result in 8 ATP production, for comparison, glycolysis produces 3, respiration produces roughly 18 ATP at 21% O2.)
-0.13 glucose consumption. (This also normally scales with O2.)
